On December 1st, 2018, Mexico had a federal government administration change. As a consequence, all those projects that are in the pre-investment stage are subject to the confirmation of the new authorities. Construction of the infrastructure and equipment needed to provide massive urban transport for passengers, by expanding line "4" of the Public Transport System (STC) in the Martín Carrera-Tepexpan corridor. The infrastructure and equipment consists of the road work according to the type of sections, stations, terminals, and fleet. It is planned to trace the project from the Martín Carrera terminal station of the STC Line "4", to Tepexpan, passing through the most populated neighborhoods of the Gustavo A. Madero, Ecatepec de Morelos, Acolman and Tezoyuca municipalities. The total length of the project will be 24.52 km, from which 1.22 km run at level and 23.3 km in viaduct. The Martín Carrera-Tepexpan corridor will have a length of 24.52 km and will have 19 new stations (all elevated) and a new terminal in Tepexpan (surface). For its operation, it will have new workshops located next to Tepexpan terminal station. The initial fleet in operation of the Project will be 32 trains with nine cars each, and an estimated capacity of 1,530 passengers per train, therefore the acquisition of 24 trains will be necessary, in addition to the existing 8 of the actual Line 4. The new urban subway type rail line will provide the transport service at its opening to 239,248 people in working days.
