On December 1st, 2018, Mexico had a federal government administration change. As a consequence, all those projects that are in the pre-investment stage are subject to the confirmation of the new authorities. Construction of the infrastructure and equipment needed to expand the existing line "A" in the Chalco - La Paz corridor. The infrastructure and equipment consists of the works required according to the type of sections, stations, terminals and fleet. The project is expected to be drawn from the current La Paz terminal of the Line "A" Public Transport System (STC) to the new Chalco terminal, located in the vicinity of the Mexico- Puebla highway intersection with the Amecameca or Cuautla free road, passing through the most populated neighborhoods of Chalco, Ixtapaluca and Valle de Chalco municipalities. In total, the length of the project will be 12.98 km. A total of 6 pass through stations and 1 (one) terminal station, with a platform length of 155 meters will be constructed. The initial operational fleet of the project will be 32 trains with an estimated capacity of 1,530 passengers per train. The new urban subway type rail line, will provide the transport service at its opening to 239,327 people on working days.
