The concession of the management of Park Zoo in Sapucaia do Sul is a State Government project aiming to offer a new form of leisure for the population, with more choices of activities and qualified services by improvements in the physical space and facilities. The operational model provides that the Secretariat of the environment and Sustainable Development (Sema) grants 159 hectares Park management for 30 years, ensuring its technical and economical sustainability. The feasibility study established as mandatory the following investments: - infrastructure; - buildings; - enclosures; - acquisition and replacement of the animals; - scheduled maintenance; - equipment and systems; and - vehicles. The space must be fully modernized with the reconstruction of the facilities, in order to provide to the users a proximity to the animals and their well-being. It should be provided the expansion of the group of animals and the diversity of species, ensuring good nutrition and health care. In addition, the zoo operator may optionally offer special attractions, such as little train ride, little farm, safari, aquarium and tree climbing.
