The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will assess the possibility of financing the construction of a new 30.4 km wastewater conveyor (redundancy pipe) from Ain Ghazal Treatment Plant (AGTP) to As-Samra WWTP, in order to accommodate a higher wastewater flow and avoid potential serious pollution to the environment . This project constitutes an integral part of the As-Samra wastewater system and will address concerns related to potential overflows, and its environmental consequences, if the infrastructure is not put in place urgently.
