Preliminary studies indicate investments in the order of R$ 4.1 billion in CAPEX and another R$ 4.5 billion in OPEX. Although the highway section contemplated is already duplicated, the concession establishes improvement in the performance standards and implementation of works that increase capacity, such as:
74 km of marginal roads;
25 bus-stop stalls;
22 km of capacity expansion (3rd lane);
185 acceleration and deceleration lane adaptations;
222 eliminations of frontal conflicts;
46 channels of movement in the marginal pathways;
29 improvements in side access; and
44 deployments of roundabouts.
It is estimated that the works to be carried out will enable capacity increase and level of service improvement on the roads, which will reduce traffic accidents congestions. With these investments, the government expects a significant contribution to the region’s economic development.
